The Party of the New Order
Leading AfD foreign politicians approve of the US policy of violence against Venezuela, thus expanding their commonalities or Coalition ability with CDU/CSU and profile themselves as a party that "aligns Germany with a new order".

In the White House
Since the autumn of last year, the exchange between the AfD and parts of the Republican Party and the MAGA movement has noticeably intensified. In September, the deputy chairwoman of the AfD parliamentary group, Beatrix von Storch, was received for talks in the White House. According to her own information, she met there with, among others, employees of Vice President JD Vance. 1] At the end of September, AfD members of the Bundestag Markus Frohmaier, foreign policy spokesman of the AfD faction, and Jan Wenzel Schmidt, member of the parliamentary group for foreign affairs, left for Washington, where they had talks with Darren Beattie, an influential employee of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs. Conversely, at the end of October, one of US President Donald Trump's social media election campaign strategists, Alex Bruesewitz, was in Berlin to teach the AfD parliamentary group proven PR techniques for the online election campaign. At the time, Bruesewitz declared under the applause of AfD deputies that they were standing together in the "spiritual war" against "Marxists" and "globalists". 2]
Honored by the Young Republican Club
In mid-December, around 20 AfD politicians traveled again to the United States - to New York, where they participated in the annual gala event of the New York Young Republican Club. The organization, which includes members of the Republican Party aged 18 to 40, is counted as the right wing of the party and has good relations also with leading circles of the MAGA movement. The reason for the participation of the AfD politicians was the awarding of the Allen-Welsh-Dulles-Prize to Frohnmaier. The prize, named after the CIA chief from 1953 to 1961, is awarded to people who, according to the New York Young Republicans, embody Dulles' "aggressive anti-Marx spirit" particularly well. At the award to Frohnmaier, it was said that he had highly deserved the honor through "daugeous work in the particularly repressive and hostile political climate of Germany". 3] Shortly before, Frohnmaier had met Sarah Rogers, a Undersecretary of State from the US State Department, who had lamented cases of alleged political censorship in Europe in a video published in early December. It was about measures against the extreme right.
"Civilizational Extinguish"
Frohnmaier then said that he had exchanged with Rogers in particular about the new National Security Strategy of the United States. This was published by the Trump administration in early December. It not only focuses on the subjugation of Latin America and the Caribbean to the complete domination of the USA. 4] She also praises the "growing influence of patriotic parties in Europe" - which means parties such as the AfD and others that belong to the Patriots for Europe (PfE) association - and she announces that they will "cultivate" their "resistance" against the "current course" of the forces that have so far dominated Europe, for example against the admission of refugees. The admission of refugees will lead to the "civilizational extinction", according to the paper (german-foreign-policy.com reported [5]). On the basis of such similarities between the AfD and the MAGA movement, cooperation is to be further intensified. Frohnmaier announced that he had invited employees of the US State Department and members of Congress to an event in Germany, which is to take place close to the Munich Security Conference. 6]
The actions of great powers
The intensive rapprochement with the MAGA movement or the Trump administration is an important step for the AfD to achieve coalition capacity: It demonstrates, without having to give up its substantive positions, the will to transatlantic cooperation, which is indispensable for its potential coalition partners CDU and CSU; at the same time, it gets rid of the ruff of the sole foreign policy fixation on Russia. The US attack on Venezuela now once again gives it the chance to demonstrate closeness to the Union parties. Frohnmaier, like Chancellor Friedrich Merz and Foreign Minister Johann Wadephul, has refrained from any criticism of US violence in his reactions; he has claimed that the Venezuelan population does not cry a tear after Maduro - and that anyone who now turns "against the USA" reacts "hypermorally". 7] "Great powers do what great powers have always done," explains Frohnmaier; it is now important to "learn to deal with it better and to react to it". 8] The AfD foreign policy expert Matthias Moosdorf also reiterates that "the factual actions of great powers" are "decisive". 9] The expert Jacob Ross of the German Society for Foreign Policy (DGAP) is quoted as saying that with its reference to pure great power politics, the AfD is now profiling itself as the party "that aligns the country and the continent towards a new order". 10]
The coalition base is growing
The willingness, shared with the majority in the Union parties, to refrain from any criticism of the violence policy of the United States, adds another one to the previous similarities with the CDU and CSU. In November, the conservative and the far-right parties in the European Parliament, including the CDU/CSU and the AfD, jointly voted for a massive softening of the Supply Chain Directive, which was not enforceable with the Social Democrats and the Greens; with this, they had broken the "cordon sanitaire" ("firewall") for the first time in a politically significant decision. At the same time, medium-sized circles of the German economy had publicly expressed their willingness to exchange with the AfD (german-foreign-policy.com reported [11]). Even before the Bundestag election, today's Chancellor Merz had submitted a motion to defend refugees with a majority through the Bundestag, which was only due to the approval of the AfD. The basis for a possible coalition formation, which he created with it, has been continuously expanding since then.
